Set Your Worries Aside
As a kid my mom always sang this song to us:
“Why worry when you can pray, trust Jesus, he’ll lead the way”.
It has been ingrained in my spirit and to this day when I begin to worry, I hear her voice singing it to me.
What I’ve discovered is that worry is like pushing a wheelbarrow up a hill — it takes so much energy that it leaves you completely exhausted!! Worry steals your energy for today so you have no joy left to think about hope for tomorrow. Living today without worry takes a deliberate act of my will and takes lots of practice and help from Jesus.
