Love Never Dies

Love is a powerful force that originates with God – who was and is and always will be. Since love is found in the one who created us then there is no end to it.

Love is a life-giving and powerful force that cannot be extinguished! The seeds of love will always bear fruit even after we’re gone from this life. The thought that we can love to our heart’s content and there will always be more to give is evidence that it cannot be exhausted or buried.

T.D. Jakes says, “Love never dies. You cannot put it in a casket and bury it.”

This thought struck me over the weekend as I thought about my Dad whom we buried over 33 years ago when he was just 63 years old. There was a physical ending to my relationship with my dad, however, the love he had for me was never buried. At the time I was 34 and I had no idea how his love for me would continue to impact my life.

I love that in relationships, we can love and know it will never die. We’ve all buried someone that we love deeply. There will always be a beginning and end to a relationship, but the love that is built in-between those two bookends won’t stop. We can carry it with us for the rest of our lives, just like I carry my dad’s love with me to this day.

God’s Love Knows No Bounds
This truth is found in Romans 8 which says, “Nothing can separate us from the love of God. Neither death nor life, angels nor demons. The present nor the future. No powers, nor any height nor depth. Nothing in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is found in Christ Jesus.”

How incredible is that? There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love. I spent years deep in guilt and shame, thinking that God was mad at me. I certainly didn’t think he loved me. But I know now that my thinking was wrong. There is nothing that can separate us from God’s love. It will always be there, in abundance, whenever we need.

Remember, love never dies and cannot be buried so go out and love someone today.
